Bell Aliant is making some progress in repairing infrastructure in the metro area damaged last weekend in a string of suspicious fires.
Four Bell wireless sites were damaged over the span of a few days.
One man has been charged in connection with two of them, but he is a suspect in several others. Patrick Donald Greer will be back in court on Wednesday.
Bell says it has successfully restored one of the four affected sites, and crews continue to work around the clock to repair the remaining locations. In parallel, the company has put measures in place to support additional wireless traffic. Those include the deployment of a “Cell on Wheels” mobile wireless site which can be used to enhance network capacity and coverage.
Bell says while some customers may continue to experience reduced service in certain locations, it’s hoped that the measures will help ensure that residents and visitors remain connected.
