Francois Bouffard believes the new agreement has the potential to reshape power transmission and could be combined into a regional electricity system.
He notes that Quebec has issued a call for information to look at the potential of integrating offshore wind in Nova Scotia to their system.
He hopes that the idea of an Atlantic Loop will “come back to life,” and that interconnecting the power grids of provinces on the east coast will help decarbonize power in those areas.
