The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on MPs to stop overspending as they return to the House of Commons for the fall sitting of parliament
Federal Director of the CTF Franco Terrazzano says he has a simple message to legislators, “stop borrowing money.”
“You look at interest charges on the federal debt. Every single dollar that you’re now paying in federal sales tax goes to pay interest on the debt.”
“So, think about that next time you’re standing…in that checkout line ready to pay for your items” says Terrazzano.
“This fall session we’re going to get a federal budget, and I think priority number one has to be ‘hey, just stop borrowing so much money.’”
