Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services has released its annual performance report.
During their recent AGM, CEO Ron Johnson gave a that speech lasted nearly 10 minutes and was mostly positive, highlighting some of the healthcare system’s high-points.
Johnson says his team is focused on improving alternative levels of care, adding that some secondary facets of the system have improved.
He does admit, however, that while more people are connected to a family care team, there’s still a wide gap in the number of people without a family doctor.
The speech also focused heavily on CorCare and its implementation earlier this year, which he says has improved transparency for those going through the medical system.
Johnson says 47 per cent of people have signed up for the MyChartNL system since it was implemented.
The speech was made at the NLHS AGM, where it released its annual performance report.
