Work is underway to bring MRI services to Grand Falls-Windsor.
Premier Tony Wakeham made the announcement in the town this week.
Some $7-million was set aside for the project in the spring budget.

Wakeham says work has already started at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.
He says planning and renovations – which will take time – have begun. He expects the new MRI machine to be up and running by 2028.
Wakeham says staffing will involve opportunities for many, including existing staff who may want to do additional training to be able to operate the machine. He says they are also looking at going in to local college programs like radiology to recruit people.
