Saying Canada must be the world’s trusted supplier of oil, the Prime Minister has designated the West Coast Pipeline as a project of national interest.
Mark Carney made the announcement this morning in Fort McMurray alongside Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.
Carney says oil demand will continue to be significant for “decades to come” even under any plausible net-zero scenario.
