A woman has been charged with stealing a vehicle in Torbay, but it took some time for the events to become clear.
The first call to the RNC around 9:00 last night was about a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle in question behind a business in the town with a woman behind the wheel. She was not drunk or high but had no driver’s license and was ticketed accordingly.
About an hour later, a man called police and told them that his vehicle had been stolen. An officer recognized that the detail matched up with the earlier call, so police went back to the business in Torbay. The woman was still sitting in the driver’s seat.
She is spending time at the lockup.
