Dale Lambe will remain on as the head of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association through to the summer of 2029.
Lambe, who began his first term as NLTA president in August 2025, has been re-elected – by acclamation – for a second term that will begin next August.
That means Lambe will be president of the NLTA until at least August 2029.
A province-wide e-vote will be conducted in December to elect a vice-president of the organization.
Lambe says recruitment and retention is one of his top priorities heading into his second term.
He says they need to highlight the issues and struggles that come with dealing with teacher shortages, and how it impacts the quality of education that kids receive. According to Lambe, they are also still having issues with school violence, and he would like to “make some headway” on class size and composition.
