A professor at Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus is accusing the university of poor governance for contracting out work on a Strategic Enrolment Management Plan.
MUN has engaged the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers to provide “specialized strategic enrolment management expertise and support” through the planning process.
The contract is valued at more than $228,000.
The university’s past spending is under scrutiny and MUN is under pressure to get its fiscal house in order.
Gerard Curtis questions why the work is being contracted out, when MUN itself should be doing the work.
He says part of the Senate’s job is to look at enrolment, “along with the Board of Regents. With their bicameral system, we are really in the field; that’s what we do.”
