First responders were flat out yesterday responding to several accidents in the metro region.
St. John’s Regional Fire Department was called to the scene of nine accidents, including one that caused a major traffic snarl on the Team Gushue during the suppertime commute.
That accident, which is said to have involved several vehicles, happened just after 5 p.m. in the southbound lanes near the exit for Blackmarsh Road.
The extent of any injuries is unknown.
Roads in metro were slippery last evening as the mercury dipped down toward the freezing mark.
