Nain Ground Search and Rescue helped to locate a stranded snowmobiler on the weekend.
RCMP say the man ran into mechanical trouble Sunday while traveling between Natuashish and Nain and was stuck in the elements overnight.
Police contacted the search and rescue team and the man was located – none the worse for his ordeal – by a volunteer.
He was taken back to Nain.
RCMP are reminding snowmobilers to plan ahead, especially as the winter changes to spring and conditions become more unpredictable.
They advise travelers to wear appropriate clothing, bring a reliable communication device, sufficient food and water and emergency supplies, like a first aid kit.
