NL Housing says it is not aware of any encampment on Signal Hill after the matter was raised in the House of Assembly this week by the Opposition.
NLHC says it reached out to a local group with an outreach team in the region following the statement to determine whether they were aware of an encampment in the area.
The housing corporation says it has not received any information that points to an encampment in the area, nor have they received any calls to the shelter line regarding people staying in tents or seeking shelter.
NLHC is asking anyone with information on the specific whereabouts of an encampment to give them a call so they can reach out and offer supports.
