A 48-year-old man has been arrested following a police operation in Ferndale that temporarily prompted officials to ask the public to avoid the area.
The incident unfolded around lunchtime yesterday when the RCMP received a report of a man pointing a firearm at two people and threatening them.
The Emergency Response Team was deployed to the scene, where the suspect was safely taken into custody.
He faces multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and pointing a firearm.
The man was held in custody for a court appearance today.
Additionally, a 28-year-old woman who was in the home was charged with breach of a release order after being instructed to stay away from the property.
