The provincial government has activated a program to help communities affected by last summer’s wildfires.
It was the worst summer ever for wildfires in some parts of the province, especially Conception Bay.
The minister responsible for forestry, Pleaman Forsey, says applications are now being accepted under the Newfoundland and Labrador Disaster Financial Assistance Program.
Funding is available for municipalities and local service districts in Conception Bay North, Holyrood, and Paddy’s Pond. Residents are not eligible.
The deadline to apply is September 25.
