The political left will gather in St. John’s this weekend for its annual convention.
The NDP convention, under the slogan “Together We Can,” will bring the party together both in person and virtually.
The party says there will be talk sessions focusing on the cost of medication, climate change, and accessibility challenges for persons with disabilities. There will also be a panel discussion on affordability featuring Lesley Burgess of Bridges to Hope.

Federal NDP Leader Avi Lewis will be there as will Sally Housser, an NDP MP in Saskatchewan who was born in Newfoundland.
NL Federation of Labour President Jessica McCormick and CUPE President Sherry Hillier will also speak.
The convention takes place at the Holiday Inn from Friday to Sunday.
