A man who has dedicated countless hours to cleaning up ponds and waterways on the Northeast Avalon was recognized for those efforts in the House of Assembly.
Diver Eugene Hynes of Avalon Pond Cleanups has removed a significant amount of waste from area ponds over the last ten years, gaining praise from people throughout the region, including MHA Sarah Stoodley.
He recycles what can be recycled, properly disposes of other waste, and even entertains followers with a bit of history on some of the objects he retrieves. “This year alone, Eugene has pulled 120 vehicle tires from Paddy’s Pond.”
