RCMP are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a marine industrial supply company in Stephenville on Friday.
Stephenville Fire Chief Don Gibbon says the call came in around 4:30 Friday afternoon.
He says firefighters from Stephenville and neighbouring Kippens, were met with heavy smoke and remained on the scene battling the blaze until the wee hours of the next morning.
Gibbon says there were no injuries, but the Salt Life Marine building was gutted.
He says the nature of the business, and the chemicals present, created a number of challenges for firefighters.
He says the building contained hydraulics, propane, and things like flares.
