A local business owner is making a public plea after someone stole a family minivan from his driveway in downtown St. John’s.
Chris Evans of Fogtown Barber Shop in St. John’s says someone took his white 2024 Kia Carnival in the early morning hours on Sunday.
Evans, who has a family of six, told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan the van contained four car seats, and they’re left with no way to get their young children around.
“We’re just totally gutted,” says Evans, “it’s very difficult to transport a family of six around… somebody just took it, they took it from under our noses while we slept.”
Evan says he keeps the van locked, but thinks he may have accidently dropped his keys, which are also missing.
He says the night before they came home with their arms full of kids, and he thinks the keys may have been dropped or fallen out of a pocket.
Anyone who’s seen the minivan, licence plate number JTS 367, is asked to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000.
