Some international visitors paid a recent a stop in St. John’s Harbour.
The USS Wichita – involved in a multinational operation led by the Canadian Armed Forces known as NANOOK-TUUGAALIK 2026 – slipped into St. John’s Harbour yesterday to pick up provisions before heading back out to sea.
The operation, which runs from August through October, is focused on maintaining a maritime presence in the Arctic.
HMCS Robert Hampton is being joined by vessels from the Canadian Coast Guard, other Canadian government agencies and naval forces from the U.S., France and Denmark for naval activities in the Arctic archipelago.
