The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary will be out “in full force” this Labour Day weekend in their jurisdictions across the province.
RNC Constable Steph Myers says they are expecting increased traffic on the roads, and there are a number of things they will be looking for.
She says they will be looking for things like impaired driving and proper seatbelt use. They will also be checking offroad vehicles and are urging riders to wear their helmets.
It will be a wet weekend across the province, with the Avalon in particular getting doused with up to 70 mm of rain between now and tomorrow afternoon.
Myers is encouraging people to drive according to the conditions, that includes reducing speeds, and ensuring there is extra distance with vehicles ahead of you.
