The provincial government is still mulling over whether to take an equity stake in the Bay du Nord project.
Last week it was announced that Shell has purchased 30 per cent of the proposed project. Equinor is the majority stakeholder at 70 per cent.
A final investment decision is due next year.
Premier Tony Wakeham says internal conversations are happening on the province potentially taking an equity stake in the project.
He says they are reviewing that now, and he is looking forward to seeing recommendations from the department of energy and mines, and OilCo.
