The lawyer for a man charged in the murder of a St. John’s man in the capital city’s east end last year has agreed to a “waive delay” for his client on a number of separate matters.
Ibrahim Hussein is facing trial in Supreme Court early in the new year on a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Gerald Kyle Hynes.
But Hussein is also facing separate, unrelated charges in provincial court – including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, resisting a peace officer and failure to comply with a release order.
His lawyer told Judge Michael Madden this morning that he was willing to set those matters over while they deal with the more serious charge.
Hussein, who is being held in custody, is scheduled to return to provincial court on December 18th.
