RCMP say Belanger Memorial in the Codroy Valley is open today after a police investigation determined that threats made against the school were not credible.
RCMP in Channel-Port aux Basques were notified last Sunday evening about threats made against the school and launched an investigation.
Police say the people reported to be involved as well as their families were spoken to and officers determined that there was no evidence to suggest planning, intent or a “credible threat” to the school, students or staff.
RCMP understand the anxiety caused and want to reassure the public that they take such threats seriously and they have completed a “full investigation.”
