The NHL playoffs are down to the final four including the upstart Montreal Canadiens with St. John’s native Alex Newhook leading the way.
Game one of the Eastern Conference final goes tonight in North Carolina against a power Hurricanes team which has yet to lose a game, having disposed of Ottawa and Philadelphia in four straight.
Alex’s mom, Paula Newhook, says he has bounced back to lead the team in scoring this postseason after missing a couple of months on the injured list.
The winner of this series takes on the winner of Vegas and Colorado in the final.
Game time tonight is 9:30 NDT.
