Corner Brook Pulp and Paper is launching what they’re calling a “major initiative” to revitalize the site.
Darren Pelley, VP of special projects at Kruger, announced the initiative at the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade.
It’s being dubbed Project Tuckamore, and will involve transforming the site into an “integrated energy and industrial hub.”
Pelley says the project will position the mill for the future, and will bring together industrial modernization, sustainable forestry and renewable energy.
He says it will create a more resilient operation that will contribute to the provincial economy and to local communities for decades.
A new community engagement office will open in Corner Brook tomorrow for people to learn more. It will be located in the CRI building on Mill Road.
