The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says fires involving communications infrastructure at six different sites around the metro region are connected and suspicious in nature.
The fires began in Shea Heights on Saturday, with others being lit on Sunday and Monday as well.
The RNC held a news conference earlier this afternoon to address the string of fires.
Police say the incidents are concerning, and the suspect remains at large.
Constable Steph Myers says the evidence gathered so far strongly suggests the fires are linked.
“The RNC has put a lot of resources into this investigation,” she told reporters during a news conference at RNC Headquarters.
“The fire investigators with the General Investigation Unit, based on their findings at the scenes, they are able to say that they are related. It is still a very active and ongoing investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
