A long-awaited province-wide core staffing review in the health care system has been completed.
The Registered Nurses Union confirmed today that it received the report and is discussing it with government.
The union negotiated the review back in 2019, but it took seven years before coming to fruition last year.
The review examined staffing levels at six sites in the province in a range of disciplines including registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, and personal care attendants.
The hope, according to the RNU was that the review will determine the “right number” of positions required at each department and location and identity needs and potential gaps.
