A lot of jurisdictions have decided to end the practice, but clocks here in Newfoundland and Labrador will turn back by one hour in the overnight hours tonight.
Clocks turn back to Standard Time at 2:00 a.m.
The St. John’s Regional Fire Department, meanwhile, says the clock change is a good time to replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
As for whether or not Newfoundland and Labrador will join with other jurisdictions in abandoning the twice-yearly time adjustment remains to be seen, however Premier Tony Wakeham has said it’s something the province may have to consider.
