The evacuation order for the Walsh River Cabin Area has been lifted, which means the remaining residents who had been ordered out of their homes can return.
The Town of Labrador City announced the change earlier today after a nearly two-week order.
The provincial government has listed the nearby fire as “being held”.
Officials say they have set up a containment area around the fire and are working to extinguish the remaining hot spots.
The evacuation alert remains in effect for Duley Lake, Thorne Lake, the Tamarack Golf Course, and Walsh River.
