The province has issued an RFP for a floating dry dock for the Bull Arm site, but it’s not the only attempt to have such a facility established in the province.
Mammoet Canada Eastern Limited, the Port of Argentia, and Argentia Capital Incorporated have signed an MOU to move forward on the development of a floating dry dock and marine repair facility at Argentia.
The Port of Argentia says at the centre of the initiative is Mommoet’s subsidiary Tugdock Submersible Platforms which supplies modular floating dry dock systems designed to accommodate a range of vessels and industrial operations.
Managing Director of Mammoet, Jeremy Asher says they see “significant potential” in developing a “competitive marine repair and servicing operation.”
