Natuashish Ground Search and Rescue helped to rescue a swimmer in distress on the weekend.
RCMP received a report Saturday evening that someone was in the water on Sango Pond and yelling for help while struggling to stay afloat.
Police located the man about 300 meters from shore and volunteers with the Natuashish Ground Search and Rescue were able to take to the water in a canoe and bring the man safely to a waiting ambulance.
An investigation into how the man ended up in the water is now underway.
